HUSSEIN BOYS CLIMBING AGAIN
Former title challenging brothers make winning returns writes Winsor Dobbin.

WORLD-RATED brothers Hussein and Nedal Hussein scored knockout wins over Indonesian opponents at the Marconi Club to both move closer to title shots.
Hussein Hussein (31-3) scored a third-round KO over Anis Ceunfin (9-5-5) with a
vicious left hook to the body and is now in line for a WBC flyweight eliminator in
December.
Hussein was in command from the start and Ceunfin failed to beat the count at 2:28 of the third. Hussein, top 12 ranked by the WBC, IBF and WBA, has lost world title challenges to both Jorge Arce and Pongsalek Wonjongkam.
"Angelo Hyder will be pressing for an eliminator for Hussy at the WBC convention," said Billy Hussein, who trains, manages and on this night promoted his brothers.
Nedal Hussein (43-4) knocked down Moses Seran (19-7) three times on his way to a fifth-round KO win at 0:52 and will face undefeated Takashi Uchiyama for the vacant OPBF super-featherweight in Tokyo next month.
Hussein has dropped decisions to Scott Harrison and Oscar Larios.
Junior-middleweight Tyrone Tongia improved to 7-1 by stopping Jun Geraldino (2-9) of the Philippines at 1:42 of the third, while hot prospect and Australian lightweight champion Lenny Zappavigna is now 10-0 after a second-round TKO win over Filipino Junmar Dulog. Zappavigna was down twice in the opening round but roared back to end it in the second.
# The same night at the Southport RSL Club on the Gold Coast, Les Sherrington retained his Australian super-middleweight title with a 10-round points decision over Sean Connell. Sherrington (17-4) was always in command over Sean Connell (10-11-2). On the undercard, slick welterweight Lance Gostelow (12-1) stopped durable Jim Savage (9-8) in round six.
